Motorists asked to follow signed detours

FAIRFAX, VA - The on-ramp from westbound/northbound George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) to southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Outer Loop) will be closed during overnight hours tonight, Nov. 18 through Wednesday, Nov. 20. This closure is necessary to allow crews to shift traffic onto new pavement as part of the 495 NEXT project.

Crews conducting guardrail and barrier work for 495 NEXT project; Motorists should follow posted detour

FAIRFAX, VA - The exit ramp from eastbound Dulles Toll Road to southbound 495 Express Lanes will be closed during overnight hours Friday, Nov. 15 and Monday, Nov. 18, for crews to reinstall guardrail and work on temporary barrier. The ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following morning both nights.

Motorists asked to follow signed detour across American Legion Bridge to loop back into Virginia

UPDATE (Nov.11, 2024): The below ramp closure and detour will be in place nightly tonight, Nov. 11 through Friday night, Nov. 15 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

FAIRFAX, VA - The on-ramp from westbound George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) to southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Outer Loop) will be closed nightly Friday, Oct. 25 through Tuesday, Oct. 29 for paving work as part of the 495 NEXT project.
