Motorists should follow posted detour and expect delays; Double lane closures on northbound I-495 scheduled concurrently

FAIRFAX, VA - Starting the night of Monday, December 2, 495 NEXT project crews will be conducting bridge girder work over northbound I-495 at the Dulles Corridor Interchange to prepare for the construction of a new I-495 Express Lanes ramp. This work will require the ramp from eastbound Dulles Toll Road/Airport Access Highway (Route 267) to northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) to close during overnight hours on weeknights through late January. Double lane closures on northbound I-495 between Route 7 and Lewinsville Road will also be in place for this work.

UPDATE (Nov. 21, 2024): The below ramp closure and detour will also be in place on tonight, Thursday, Nov. 21 during overnight hours, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

FAIRFAX, VA - The ramp from eastbound Dulles Toll Road/Airport Access Road (Route 267) to northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) is scheduled to close during overnight hours Monday, Nov. 18 through Wednesday, Nov. 20 to allow crews to conduct paving wok as part of the 495 NEXT project.

Motorists Should Follow Posted Detour to Access I-495 North; Expect Continued Nighttime Ramp Closure and Detour in Weeks Ahead

UPDATE (Nov. 20, 2024): The below ramp closure and detour will also be in place on tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 20 and Thursday, Nov. 21 during overnight hours, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

FAIRFAX, VA - The on-ramp from the westbound Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) to northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) is scheduled to be closed during overnight hours tonight, Friday, Nov. 8, Sunday night, Nov. 10, Monday night, Nov. 11, and Tuesday night, Nov. 12, to allow crews to conduct milling and paving work as part of the 495 NEXT project. The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Triple lane closures will also be in place on northbound I-495 in the project corridor during the same times for paving work. Drivers are advised that this same ramp closure will occur periodically over the coming weeks for continued construction.
