Nightly Ramp Closure From Northbound I-495 to George Washington Memorial Parkway in McLean Scheduled Weeknights, May 28-June 20

Motorists asked to follow signed detour across American Legion Bridge to loop back into Virginia

FAIRFAX, VA - Beginning on or about tomorrow night, Wednesday, May 28, and continuing on weeknights through Friday, June 20, the ramp from northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) to George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) (Exit 43) will be closed for paving, curb, and striping work as part of the 495 NEXT project. This ramp closure and detour is scheduled to occur nightly, Mondays through Fridays, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Traffic Shift to New Lane Alignment on Northbound I-495/Capital Beltway in Tysons-McLean Area Scheduled Friday Night, May 9

Northbound I-495 traffic to shift on Friday night, May 9; Saturday night, May 10 is backup date for weather or other delays

FAIRFAX, VA - Tomorrow night, Friday, May 9, crews plan to shift traffic on northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) in the Tysons-McLean area onto approximately two miles of newly-constructed lanes on the outer section of the highway. This traffic shift and related lane closures will begin Friday night, with all four northbound Beltway lanes reopened in their new alignment by 10 a.m. Saturday morning, May 10. Saturday night will serve as a backup date in case of inclement weather or other work delays.

Nightly Ramp Closures Affecting Northbound I-495 Traffic in Tysons-McLean Area Scheduled Tonight, May 6-9

Motorists should stay alert and follow posted detours

FAIRFAX, VA - Beginning tonight, Tuesday, May 6, and continuing nightly through Friday, May 9, multiple ramps to and from northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) at the George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP), Georgetown Pike, and Dulles Corridor Interchanges will be closed for 495 NEXT crews to perform paving and striping work in preparation for the Beltway traffic shift planned for Friday night, May 9.
