Traffic shift on Georgetown Pike Beltway Bridge in McLean planned for Monday night, April 6

Crews working to complete new bridge by late spring

MCLEAN - All eastbound travel lanes on the Georgetown Pike Bridge over I-495 (Capital Beltway) will be shifted onto the newly constructed southern portion of the bridge on or about Monday night, April 6, weather permitting. This new Georgetown Pike Bridge is one of seven new or rehabilitated bridges built or improved as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

Daily Traffic Shifts on Balls Hill Road Near Georgetown Pike in McLean Scheduled for Mon.-Wed., 3/30-4/1

All travel lanes and traffic movements on Balls Hill Road will be maintained

MCLEAN, VA - On or about Monday, March 30, and continuing through Wednesday, April 1, during daytime hours, Balls Hill Road traffic between Georgetown Pike and Cooper Middle School will be shifted toward the eastern side of the roadway (closer to Cooper Middle School), between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day. Northbound and southbound lanes will remain open for traffic, as well as all turn lanes between Balls Hill Road and Georgetown Pike. These traffic impacts are necessary for 495 NEXT crews to safely perform underground drainage work on the western side of the roadway.

Nightly Ramp Closures and Detours at Georgetown Pike and I-495 Interchange in McLean Scheduled for March 30-April 2 and April 6-9

Motorists should follow posted detours

FAIRFAX, VA - Beginning on or about Monday night, March 30, and continuing nightly through Thursday night, April 2, and again Monday night, April 6 through Thursday night, April 9, two ramps at the Georgetown Pike and I-495 interchange in McLean will be closed and detoured for milling and paving work as part of the 495 NEXT project. Closures will start at 10 p.m. each night and end at 5 a.m. the following morning. All work and closures are subject to change based on weather conditions.
