Closures needed for delivery and installation of bridge beams; Motorists should follow posted detours

FAIRFAX, VA - Beginning Thursday night, March 27, and continuing weeknights through April 17, the exit ramp from southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Outer Loop) collector road to Georgetown Pike (Exit 44), and the on-ramp from northwest George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) to southbound I-495 will be closed. Closures and detours will occur Monday through Friday, between the hours of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Crews will be installing beams for new express lanes ramp connections at GWMP, as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

Motorists should follow posted detour

FAIRFAX, VA - The exit ramp from the southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Outer Loop) collector road to Georgetown Pike (Exit 44) will be closed tonight, Thursday, March 20, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning. The ramp will be closed and detoured to allow crews to perform preparatory work, including setting concrete barrier, that is needed for upcoming bridge work as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

Motorists should follow posted detour

FAIRFAX, VA - Starting Monday night, March 17, and continuing nightly through Friday, March 21, the ramp from Georgetown Pike to southbound I-495 will be closed. The ramp closure will occur nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, to allow crews to conduct noise wall work as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.
