Daytime Ramp Closure From George Washington Memorial Parkway to Northbound I-495 in Virginia Scheduled Tuesday, March 11

FAIRFAX, VA - On Tuesday, March 11, the ramp from George Washington Memorial Parkway to northbound I-495 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The ramp closure will allow crews to conduct tree clearing as part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

Nightly Lane Closures and Traffic Stoppages on I-495 in McLean Start Tonight, Thursday, Feb. 20–March 15 for Bridge Demolition at Old Dominion Drive

Closures needed for overnight demolition of Old Dominion Drive bridge

FAIRFAX, VA - Lane closures and intermittent traffic stoppages are scheduled to occur during overnight hours tonight, Thursday, Feb. 20, through Saturday, March 15, weather permitting, on north- and southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) between Lewinsville Road and Georgetown Pike in McLean. These closures and traffic stoppages are needed for crews to safely demolish the retired Old Dominion Drive bridge over I-495. This demolition follows the recent shifting of traffic onto the new Old Dominion Drive bridge, which was built as part of the 495 NEXT project.

Lane Closures on North- and Southbound I-495 in Maryland Scheduled Monday, Feb. 17- Sunday, Feb. 23

495 NEXT Crews Performing Work for Overhead Signage and Setting Barriers and Attenuators

FAIRFAX, VA - There will be daytime single lane and mobile shoulder closures and nighttime single lane closures on north- and southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) in Maryland between Cabin John Parkway and the American Legion Bridge beginning Monday, Feb. 17, through Sunday, Feb. 23. These closures are needed for Virginia’s 495 NEXT crews to install temporary signs and barrier, and conduct preparatory work for overhead sign structures, along this section of I-495 in Maryland.
