Live Oak Drive Bridge Traffic Shift and Overnight Triple-Lane Closures with Traffic Stoppages on I-495 Near Live Oak Drive in McLean, Aug. 16 through Aug. 29

Traffic to be shifted to new Live Oak Drive Bridge over I-495; Crews conducting overnight demolition work at Live Oak Drive Bridge

FAIRFAX, VA - Traffic will be shifted from the current Live Oak Drive Bridge to the new bridge beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday night, until 5 a.m., tomorrow morning, Saturday, Aug. 17. This work will be completed using a flagging operation on Live Oak Drive and Balls Hill Road at the bridge over I-495.

Overnight Multi-Lane Closures and Traffic Stoppages on I-495 in McLean to Begin Next Week through Early September

Crews installing bridge girders, inspecting pavement and performing overhead sign work throughout 495 NEXT project corridor

FAIRFAX, VA - During overnight hours starting on or about Monday, Aug. 19, and continuing nightly through early September, there will be multi-lane closures and periodic total traffic stoppages affecting I-495 North and South between George Washington Memorial Parkway (Exit 43) and the Dulles Corridor Interchange (near MM 45.2). The work is part of the 495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.

Ramp Closure from George Washington Memorial Parkway to Southbound I-495 Beltway Outer Loop in Virginia Scheduled Friday Night, Aug. 16 Through Saturday Afternoon, Aug. 17

Motorists asked to follow signed detour across American Legion Bridge to loop back into Virginia

FAIRFAX, VA - The on-ramp from westbound George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) to southbound I-495 is scheduled to close beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17 for bridge deck repair work. A signed detour will be in place directing motorists across the American Legion Bridge into Maryland, to the Clara Barton Parkway (Exit 41), and then back toward Virginia.
