New Georgetown Pike Ramp to I-495 North opens Sunday night, Aug. 4

UPDATE (Aug. 2, 2024): The opening of the ramp from westbound Georgetown Pike to northbound I-495 has been rescheduled for Monday night, Aug. 5 starting around 9 p.m. All traffic will be shifted onto the new ramp by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, Aug. 6.

FAIRFAX, VA - During overnight hours on Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, Aug. 1, there will be lane closures in both directions with brief total stoppages on Georgetown Pike (Route 193) near the I-495 interchange as crews activate new traffic signals and complete paving operations. Police will be on-site to assist in directing traffic. Nightly closures will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., with brief total stoppages occurring after midnight through 5 a.m.

Crews continuing bridge girder installation for 495 NEXT project

FAIRFAX, VA - Lane and ramp closures on the Dulles Toll Road/Dulles Access Road near the I-495 interchange are scheduled to continue during overnight hours tonight, Wednesday, July 31, through Friday, August 2. Crews are continuing bridge girder work for the new overpass from eastbound Dulles Toll Road to northbound 495 Express Lanes. Nightly closures will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. All work is part of the overall I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.
