Lane reductions and traffic impacts for Big Beam Weekend
FAIRFAX, VA - Lane reductions and traffic impacts on northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) near Tysons in Virginia will begin tonight, Friday Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. and will be in effect until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27 for the 495 NEXT project's Big Beam Weekend. Multiple ramps at the I-495 and Dulles Corridor interchange will also be closed and detoured all weekend. Drivers are urged to STAY AWAY from the area and use alternate routes, as delays and backups are expected to occur.

Drivers Urged to Stay Away from Northbound I-495 in Virginia Near Tysons All Weekend Due to Traffic Impacts
FAIRFAX, VA - Travelers are reminded to stay away from northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) near Tysons in Virginia heading toward the American Legion Bridge this weekend, Jan. 24-27, as crews will be installing massive steel girders across the northbound Beltway for a new express lanes ramp. Lane reductions and traffic shifts for the Big Beam Weekend will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, until as late as 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, for approximately three miles on northbound I-495 between Route 7 to north of the Dulles Toll Road/Route 267. Multiple ramps at the I-495 and Dulles Corridor interchange will also be closed and detoured all weekend to accommodate the work. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes, as delays and backups are expected to occur.

Drivers urged to stay away during major bridge girder installation over northbound Capital Beltway
FAIRFAX, VA - Travelers are urged to stay away from northbound I-495 (Capital Beltway Inner Loop) near Tysons in Virginia heading toward the American Legion Bridge the weekend of Jan. 24-27, as crews are scheduled to install massive steel girders across the northbound Beltway for a new express lanes ramp that will connect the Dulles Toll Road to northbound I-495. Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 until as late as 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, lane reductions and traffic shifts will be in effect on northbound I-495 for approximately three miles between Route 7 (near mile marker 47.4) to north of the Dulles Toll Road/Route 267 (near mile marker 44.6). Multiple ramps at the I-495 and Dulles Corridor interchange will also be closed and detoured all weekend to accommodate the work. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes, as delays and backups are expected to occur.
